Philodendron serratum Caramel Marble is a rare and visually captivating plant known for its uniquely marbled leaves that feature shades of caramel, bronze, and green. The large, deeply lobed leaves have a glossy texture, with marbled patterns that create a striking effect, particularly under bright light. This tropical aroid is admired for its vibrant colour transitions and lush growth, making it a sought-after plant for collectors. Its climbing or vining habit allows it to be trained on a support, adding a dramatic and tropical aesthetic to any space.

Please note: These plants have been grown in seedling plug trays and therefore the root systems will not be as fully established as a larger pot size and will require extra attention. Plants are on average 5cm in length and photos on the website are indicative only. Please take this into consideration with each purchase of the Bare Bottom Babies.

Care Plan for Philodendron serratum Caramel Marble:

  • Light: This plant prefers bright, indirect light to maintain its vibrant variegation. It can tolerate medium light but avoid direct sunlight, which can cause leaf burn and diminish the marbled effect.

  • Watering: Water the plant when the top 2-3 cm (1 inch) of soil feels dry. Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Ensure proper drainage to avoid waterlogging, as overwatering can lead to root rot.

  • Humidity: High humidity (60-80%) is ideal for Philodendron serratum Caramel Marble. If the environment is dry, consider misting the plant regularly or placing it near a humidifier to enhance moisture in the air.

  • Temperature: Maintain warm temperatures between 18°C and 30°C  Avoid exposure to cold drafts, and keep the plant away from heating vents or air conditioners.

  • Soil: A well-draining potting mix is essential. A mix that contains peat, perlite, and orchid bark works well to provide aeration and proper moisture retention.

  • Fertiliser: Feed the plant during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced liquid fertiliser every 4-6 weeks. Reduce fertiliser during the dormant months (fall and winter).
