When mature, Alocasia odora may also produce fragrant flowers, adding further charm to this already stunning aroid.

Care Plan for Alocasia odora ‘Batik’ Variegata Tricolour

Light:
Bright, indirect light is ideal. Some early morning or dappled sun is tolerated, but harsh direct sunlight may scorch the variegated foliage. Too little light can reduce variegation.

Water:
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Allow the top 2–3 cm of soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Reduce watering in cooler months.

Humidity:
Prefers high humidity (60%+). Use a humidifier or place the pot on a pebble tray if indoor air is dry.

Temperature:
Thrives in warm conditions between 18–30 °C. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 10 °C.

Soil:
Use a well-draining, chunky aroid mix containing ingredients like coco coir, perlite, orchid bark, and composted pine bark. Good drainage is essential to prevent root rot.

Feeding:
Feed fortnightly during the active growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced liquid fertiliser diluted to half strength. Avoid overfeeding during winter.
