Alocasia Amazonica 'Polly' - Bare bottom Baby

Care Plan

• Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch its delicate leaves. It can tolerate lower light levels but may grow more slowly.

• Temperature: Thrives in warm conditions, ideally between 18–27°C. Keep it away from cold drafts and temperatures below 15°C, as it’s sensitive to the cold.

• Humidity: High humidity is essential for Alocasia ‘Polly’ (60–80%). Use a humidifier, or mist the leaves regularly, especially if your home has dry air.

• Watering: Water consistently to keep the soil evenly moist, but avoid waterlogging. Let the top 2–3 cm of soil dry out before watering again. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so ensure the pot has drainage.

• Soil: Use a well-draining, aerated potting mix. A mix of peat, perlite, and orchid bark is ideal, as it allows proper air circulation and prevents waterlogging.

• Fertiliser: Feed with a balanced, diluted liquid fertiliser every 4–6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Avoid fertilising in autumn and winter when growth slows.
