Alocasia 'Simpo' Albo Variegata- Bare Bottom Baby⁷
Description:
Alocasia 'Simpo' Variegated is a stunning and sought-after variety known for its unique, irregular marbled variegation across broad, arrow-shaped leaves. The contrast between creamy white, soft green, and deep emerald tones creates a truly eye-catching display. Its upright growth habit and bold foliage make it a standout feature in any indoor plant collection. Like many Alocasias, it has a sculptural presence and adds an exotic, tropical vibe to any space.
Care Plan:
Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light. Too much direct sun can burn the variegated leaves, while too little light may cause the plant to lose variegation and become leggy.
Watering:
Keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy. Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil is dry. Avoid letting the plant sit in water, as this can lead to root rot.
Humidity:
High humidity is ideal. Aim for at least 60% or higher. A humidifier or regular misting can help prevent leaf crisping, especially in drier environments.
Temperature:
Thrives in warm conditions between 18–28°C. Avoid cold drafts and temperatures below 15°C.
Soil:
Use a well-draining, airy mix. A blend of premium potting mix with added perlite and orchid bark is ideal to keep the roots happy.
Fertiliser:
Feed monthly during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced liquid fertiliser diluted to half strength. Hold off during the cooler months.
Dormancy:
Like many Alocasias, it may enter a dormant phase in winter — growth may slow, and it may even drop a leaf or two. This is normal. Reduce watering slightly and resume regular care as new growth returns in spring.
