Anthurium Crystal x Hope is a unique hybrid that combines the elegance of Anthurium crystallinum with the robust growth habit of Anthurium ‘Hope’. The foliage develops large, velvety, heart-shaped leaves, showcasing a deep green surface with contrasting lighter venation inherited from the Crystal parentage. The Hope influence adds vigour, sturdier growth, and a more adaptable nature, making this hybrid a striking yet manageable collector’s plant. Over time, it matures into a lush specimen with bold, architectural foliage.

Care Plan

Light

• Thrives in bright, indirect light.

• Avoid direct midday sun, which can burn the foliage.

• Tolerates lower light but with slower growth and less vibrant leaf development.

Watering

• Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.

• Allow the top 2–3 cm of soil to dry before watering again.

• Reduce watering slightly in cooler months to avoid root stress.

Humidity

• Prefers high humidity (60%+).

• Benefits from a humidifier, pebble trays, or positioning among other plants to create a microclimate.

Temperature

• Ideal range: 18–28 °C.

• Protect from drafts, sudden changes, and prolonged exposure below 15 °C.

Soil

• Requires a chunky, free-draining mix that retains some moisture.

• A blend of orchid bark, perlite, and high-quality indoor potting mix is suitable.

Fertiliser

• Use a diluted, balanced fertiliser every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer.

• Switch to a calcium-rich or orchid fertiliser if growth is pale or sluggish.

• Reduce feeding in winter when growth slows.
