Care Plan

Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light. Too much direct sun can scorch the leaves, while too little light may dull their colour. Ideal for shaded patios or filtered indoor light.

Water:
Keep the soil consistently moist during the growing season (spring to early autumn), but avoid waterlogging. Reduce watering in winter when the plant goes dormant.

Humidity:
High humidity is essential. Mist regularly or use a humidity tray indoors, especially in dry climates.

Temperature:
Thrives in warm temperatures between 20–30°C. Avoid exposure to temperatures below 15°C.

Soil:
Use a rich, well-draining potting mix. A blend containing peat, perlite, and compost works well.

Fertiliser:
Feed fortnightly during the growing season with a balanced, diluted liquid fertiliser to promote strong leaf growth and vibrant colouration.

Dormancy:
Caladium bicolor typically goes dormant in cooler months. When foliage dies back, reduce watering and allow the tubers to rest in dry soil. Resume care when new growth appears in spring.
