Philodendron imperial green variegata- Baby Ambitious
Introducing Baby Ambitious
The Philodendron Imperial Green Variegata is a captivating variety of the popular Philodendron Imperial Green, distinguished by its large, glossy leaves adorned with striking variegation. The variegated pattern ranges from creamy white to light green, creating a beautiful contrast against the deep green background of the leaves. This plant has a compact, upright growth habit, making it an excellent choice for both small and large indoor spaces. Its elegant foliage and relatively low maintenance needs make it a favourite among plant enthusiasts.
Please note: These plants have been grown in seedling plug trays and therefore the root systems will not be as fully established as a larger pot size and will require extra attention. Plants are on average 5cm in length and photos on the website are indicative only. Please take this into consideration with each purchase of the Bare Bottom Babies.
Care Plan for Philodendron Imperial Green Variegata
Light:
The Philodendron Imperial Green Variegata thrives in bright, indirect light. Adequate light is crucial for maintaining its variegation. While it can tolerate lower light conditions, the variegation may fade, and growth may slow down. Avoid direct sunlight, which can cause leaf burn.
Watering:
Water the plant when the top 1-2 inches of soil feel dry to the touch. It's important to keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy, as overwatering can lead to root rot. Ensure the pot has drainage holes to allow excess water to escape.
Humidity:
This Philodendron enjoys higher humidity levels, ideally around 60-80%. If the air in your home is dry, especially during winter, consider using a humidifier or placing the plant on a humidity tray. Regular misting can also help maintain the necessary humidity.
Temperature:
Maintain a temperature range of 18-27°C for optimal growth. The plant is sensitive to cold and should be kept away from drafts or temperatures below13°C.
Soil:
Use a well-draining, aroid-specific soil mix. A combination of peat, perlite, and orchid bark works well to retain moisture while allowing excess water to drain away, preventing waterlogging.
Fertilisation:
Feed the plant with a balanced, water-soluble fertiliser every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce feeding in the autumn and winter when growth naturally slows.
