Epipremnum amplissimum variegata
Description:
Epipremnum amplissimum variegata is a striking aroid known for its elongated, lance-shaped leaves adorned with creamy white to pale yellow variegation. The foliage has a glossy texture and a slightly wavy edge, giving the plant an elegant and refined appearance. Unlike other Epipremnum species, its leaves tend to be more narrow and pointed, with some displaying a silvery sheen in addition to their variegation. As a climbing or trailing plant, it thrives when given support, such as a moss pole, to encourage larger leaf development.
Care Plan:
- Light: Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain its variegation. Can tolerate lower light conditions but may lose some variegation. Avoid direct sun exposure, which can scorch the leaves.
- Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. Reduce watering in cooler months.
- Humidity: Enjoys high humidity levels (60%+). Regular misting or a humidifier can help maintain optimal conditions.
- Temperature: Best kept in temperatures between 18–28°C. Avoid exposure to temperatures below 15°C.
- Soil: Well-draining, aerated potting mix with organic matter. A mix of peat, perlite, and orchid bark works well.
- Fertiliser: Use a balanced liquid fertiliser every 2–4 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce feeding in autumn and winter.
