Epipremnum giganteum 'Variegata' is a striking tropical climber known for its massive, glossy leaves adorned with creamy white or pale yellow variegation.  Its variegation patterns are unique to each leaf, ranging from marbled splashes to bold streaks, making it a collector’s favourite. Native to Southeast Asia, this plant thrives in warm, humid conditions and adds an impressive touch to any indoor or outdoor tropical garden.

Care Plan:

Light:

  • Bright, indirect light is ideal for maintaining vibrant variegation. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.

Water:

  • Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Allow the top 2–3 cm of soil to dry slightly between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot.

Humidity:

  • Prefers high humidity (60–80%). Mist regularly or place near a humidifier to mimic its natural tropical environment.

Temperature:

  • Thrives in temperatures between 18–27°C. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 15°C.

Soil:

  • Use a well-draining, aerated mix, such as one made for aroids, containing peat, perlite, and orchid bark.

Fertiliser:

  • Feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser diluted to half strength every 4 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce feeding in autumn and winter.

Pruning:

  • Trim back leggy vines or yellowing leaves as needed to maintain shape and encourage healthy growth.

Support:

  • Provide a moss pole or trellis to encourage climbing and larger leaf development.
