Homalomena humilis ‘Silver Silk’ Variegata
Lush. Sculptural. Silvery sheen.

Care Plan – Homalomena humilis ‘Silver Silk’ Variegata
Light:
Thrives in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leaves or fade the variegation. Tolerates lower light but may slow growth.
Water:
Keep soil evenly moist but not soggy. Water when the top 2–3cm of soil feels dry. Avoid letting it completely dry out or sit in standing water.
Humidity:
Prefers high humidity (60%+). If indoors in a dry climate, use a pebble tray, humidifier, or group with other plants to boost moisture in the air.
Temperature:
Ideal range is 18–28°C. Protect from cold draughts and do not expose to temperatures below 12°C.
Soil:
Use a chunky, free-draining aroid mix—something that includes orchid bark, perlite, coco coir, and a little charcoal.
Fertiliser:
Feed monthly during active growth (spring to early autumn) with a balanced, diluted liquid fertiliser. Pause in winter.
Growth Habit:
Naturally compact with clumping growth. New shoots emerge close to the base, creating a full appearance over time.
Maintenance Tips:
Wipe leaves gently with a damp cloth to keep their silver sheen. Remove any yellowing leaves to redirect energy to new growth.
