Philodendron erubescens 'Autumn Queen' stands out with its warm, coppery-red and burgundy tones that evolve as the plant matures. New leaves unfurl with rich reddish hues, gradually transitioning into deep green as they age, creating a stunning display of colour contrast. The elongated, pointed leaves have a glossy finish, making them both striking and elegant. As a climbing Philodendron, 'Autumn Queen' brings a vibrant touch to any space and can be trained on a support pole to accentuate its tropical nature.

Care Plan for Philodendron erubescens 'Autumn Queen'

Light:
Provide bright, indirect light to encourage its colourful foliage. Avoid direct sunlight, which can cause leaf burn, but ensure enough light to maintain the red hues.

Water:
Allow the top 2–3 cm of soil to dry out between waterings. Philodendron 'Autumn Queen' prefers consistently moist but not waterlogged soil. Ensure the pot has good drainage to prevent root rot.

Humidity:
This plant enjoys higher humidity levels, ideally around 60% or higher. Consider using a humidity tray or misting regularly, especially in drier environments.

Temperature:
Ideal temperatures range between 18°C to 26°C. Keep away from cold drafts and ensure the temperature doesn’t drop below 15°C, which could stress the plant.

Soil:
Use a well-draining, aerated mix like a combination of potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark. This allows good airflow to the roots and prevents compacted soil.

Fertiliser:
Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced, water-soluble fertiliser. Reduce feeding in autumn and winter when the plant’s growth slows down.
