Philodendron erubescens 'Birkin'
Philodendron erubescens ‘Birkin’
Description
A highly sought-after self-heading Philodendron known for its striking creamy-white pinstripe variegation across deep green leaves. Each leaf develops unique striping patterns, making every plant slightly different. Compact and elegant, ‘Birkin’ is ideal for indoor collections and contemporary styling.
Care Plan
Light: Bright, indirect light is best to maintain strong variegation. Avoid harsh direct sun which can scorch leaves.
Watering: Allow the top few centimetres of soil to dry between waterings. Do not leave sitting in water.
Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity but adapts well to average indoor conditions.
Temperature: Best grown between 18–28°C. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 15°C.
Soil: Use a well-draining aroid mix containing bark, perlite and quality potting media.
Fertilising: Feed monthly during active growth with a diluted indoor plant fertiliser. Reduce feeding during winter.
