Description:
Philodendron gloriosum ‘White Vein’ Variegata is a rare and highly sought-after variety of the classic Philodendron gloriosum, known for its stunning foliage. This creeping, terrestrial philodendron features large, velvety, heart-shaped leaves with prominent white venation and striking variegation in shades of cream and pale green. The contrast between the deep green base and the white variegation gives it an elegant, almost ethereal appearance. As a slow-growing species, it requires patience but rewards collectors with breathtaking foliage over time.

Care Plan:

Light: Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain strong variegation. Too much direct sunlight can scorch the leaves, while low light may reduce the vibrancy of the variegation.

Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Allow the top 2–3 cm of soil to dry out before watering again. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so ensure good drainage.

Humidity: Thrives in high humidity (above 60–70%). If growing indoors, use a humidifier or place the plant in a naturally humid space like a greenhouse or terrarium.

Temperature: Prefers warm temperatures between 18–28°C. Avoid exposure to temperatures below 15°C, as cold stress can slow growth.

Soil: A well-draining, airy mix is essential. Use a combination of peat, perlite, orchid bark, and a bit of charcoal for optimal aeration and moisture retention.

Fertilising: Feed with a diluted, balanced liquid fertiliser every 4 weeks during the growing season. Avoid over-fertilising, as it may cause leaf burn.

Growth Habit: As a creeping philodendron, it grows horizontally rather than climbing. Use a wide, shallow pot to accommodate its rhizome and encourage healthy growth.
