Care Plan for Philodendron McCauley’s Finale:
Light:
Philodendron McCauley’s Finale thrives in bright, indirect light but can tolerate lower light conditions. However, avoid direct sunlight as it can scorch the leaves, diminishing their colour vibrancy.
Watering:
Water the plant when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. Be careful not to overwater, as this can lead to root rot. The plant enjoys consistently moist soil but must never be waterlogged.
Humidity:
This plant prefers higher humidity levels (around 60% or more), making it ideal for a bathroom or near a humidifier. Mist the plant regularly or place it on a humidity tray to maintain its moisture needs.
Temperature:
Philodendron McCauley’s Finale prefers temperatures between 18°C and 27°C. Keep it away from cold drafts or sudden temperature fluctuations, as these can stress the plant.
Soil:
A well-draining potting mix, such as one formulated for aroids, works best. You can also add perlite or orchid bark to improve aeration and drainage.
Fertilising:
Feed the plant every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced liquid fertiliser. Reduce feeding in autumn and winter when the plant's growth slows down.
