Philodendron ‘Ring of Fire’

Philodendron ‘Ring of Fire’ is a striking hybrid known for its serrated leaves and highly variegated foliage. This slow-growing plant displays a mix of green, yellow, orange, and cream colours, which can change over time based on environmental conditions. The leaf shape is elongated with deep lobes, creating a jagged, flame-like effect that gives this cultivar its name. With its unique foliage and climbing growth habit, ‘Ring of Fire’ is a sought-after addition to any aroid collection.

Care Plan for Philodendron ‘Ring of Fire’

Light: Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain its vibrant variegation. Avoid direct sunlight, which may scorch the leaves.

Watering: Water when the top 3–5 cm of soil feels dry. Ensure the pot has drainage to prevent waterlogging.

Humidity: Thrives in high humidity (60% or more). If the air is too dry, consider using a humidifier or misting occasionally.

Temperature: Keep in warm conditions between 18–27°C. Avoid exposure to cold drafts or temperatures below 13°C.

Soil: Use a well-draining, chunky aroid mix containing orchid bark, perlite, and peat or coco coir.

Fertilising: Feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser every 4 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce feeding in autumn and winter.

Support: As a climbing Philodendron, it benefits from a moss pole or stake to support its growth.
