Philodendron warscewiczii Green
Philodendron warscewiczii Green is a striking tropical aroid known for its deeply lobed, feathery foliage and fast-growing nature. Native to the rainforests of Central and South America, this philodendron thrives in warm, humid conditions. The vibrant green leaves develop an elegant, almost fern-like shape, making it a standout in any indoor or tropical garden setting. Over time, it can form an impressive clumping growth habit, with large, lush foliage that adds a jungle-like feel to its surroundings.
Care Plan
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate moderate light levels. Avoid direct sun exposure, as it may scorch the leaves.
Watering: Keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy. Water when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry. Reduce watering in cooler months.
Humidity: Thrives in high humidity (above 60%). If indoors, consider misting, using a pebble tray, or a humidifier.
Temperature: Ideal range is between 18°C and 27°C. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 12°C.
Soil: Well-draining, airy mix with organic matter. A blend of orchid bark, perlite, and peat or coco coir works well.
Fertilising: Feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser every 2-4 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce feeding in autumn and winter.
Repotting: Repot every 1-2 years or when the roots outgrow the pot. Choose a slightly larger container with good drainage.
